Mary Helen Sullivan, “Mare” or “Sully,” is a Financial Services Professional with First Financial Group, having joined in 2025 after a four-year tenure at Guardian. Trained under first-generation advisors mentored by Vince D’Addona, she was drawn to First Financial to continue working with a respected and experienced leadership team.

Mary is known for her thoughtful approach to helping clients identify and address risk management considerations that may otherwise be overlooked. Her philosophy is to meet individuals where they are and provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment as they evaluate their options. She encourages clients to use their own judgment and priorities when considering solutions, with an emphasis on flexibility where it matters most to them. This perspective is informed by her professional licensing and training as a birth doula (supporting over 50 births) and her experience serving as a chaplain at a Level 1 trauma hospital, shaping her focus on the emotional aspects of financial decision-making.

Previously, Mary worked with analysts at M&A-focused hedge funds, providing research data to support broader strategy discussions, and supported organizations such as Voya Financial and Travelers, as well as firms like BTIG. These experiences contributed to her general understanding of insurance and financial services. She also led marketing efforts for a large P&C insurance agency in the Bluegrass and DMV regions.

Mary supports business development efforts and works closely with senior advisors and specialists to help connect clients with additional resources where appropriate. For example, she may help facilitate introductions to professionals in areas such as commercial and residential real estate, M&A brokerage, and business exit planning, who can assist with complex financial and tax considerations.

She collaborates with senior advisors who have experience in areas such as generational planning concepts, retirement considerations, charitable giving, and employer-sponsored financial wellness programs. Mary’s role is focused on supporting clients and coordinating with appropriate specialists.

Mary also enjoys working with individuals and families to explore ways insurance solutions can help address risk, volatility, and long-term goals, including education planning considerations.
