Brian Mahaffy

I am a married father of three young children, ages 5, 4, and nearly 2. Originally from Long Island,

New York, I now spend most of my time balancing family life, business ownership, and a career

dedicated to helping other business owners navigate business and financial decisions. Outside of

work, I spend much of my day chasing after my little ones until bedtime.

I have been a small business owner since 2014 and am the owner of High Point Barbershop, a

chain of high-end barbershops with three locations in Richmond, Virginia, and a fourth location on

the way. We have been recognized as the city's best barbershop for 12 consecutive years, and

building and growing a successful business has given me firsthand insight into the challenges and

opportunities business owners face.

Business has always been a part of my life. My father spent many years as an FX trader before

transitioning into wealth management on Long Island. During college, I interned on the Nasdaq

trading floor with Smith Barney/Citigroup, gaining early exposure to the financial industry. After

graduation, I explored several entrepreneurial ventures before ultimately focusing on building my

own businesses.

Earlier in life, I was passionate about surfing and baseball. These days, I enjoy staying active

through softball, weightlifting, and running.

I am returning to the financial industry because I believe my experience as a business owner, sales

consultant, and trusted professional provides perspective that may be relevant to clients,

particularly fellow business owners seeking guidance regarding long-term financial and business

considerations.
