MMLIS Investment Products - Required Training 

MML Investors Services, LLC (MMLIS) is a Broker-Dealer and Registered Investment Adviser subsidiary of MassMutual. MML Investors Services was founded in 1981 and is one of the largest distributors of mutual funds, variable annuities and variable life insurance in the United States. MMLIS is a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA**) and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC**). We are authorized to conduct business in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.


Prior to solicitation or selling of certain MMLIS products, you are required to complete brief training courses on the MMLIS Distance Learning Platform.

NFS BROKERAGE OVERVIEW

MMLIS collaborates with National Financial Services, LLC (NFS) –a Fidelity Investments company—as its clearinghouse. NFS provides trade execution, custody and other related services for your clients’ brokerage accounts. As custodian of your clients’ brokerage accounts, NFS is responsible for:

  • The execution, clearance and settlement of securities transactions
  • Preparing and sending periodic statements of account and transaction confirmations
  • The custody (or safekeeping), receipt and delivery of funds and securities

The MMLIS brokerage platform’s robust functionality makes it the most preferred and efficient method for submitting brokerage and mutual fund business. The all-in-one online solution, accessed through Wealthscape, is a single portal for registered representatives (reps) to open and generate new accounts versus having to access different carriers' portals.

CORPORATE RIA 

MMLIS Corporate Registered Investment Adviser (CRIA) offers a wide array of programs/products and services designed for use by Investment Advisor Representatives registered with MMLIS' Corporate Registered Investment Adviser. Through various relationships with Turnkey Asset Management Programs and individual money managers, IA-Reps have access to a variety of investment options for their clients. MMLIS Wealth Management, Morningstar Managed Portfolios, Brinker Capital and BNY Mellon Wealth Management are just a few of the Program/Product Sponsors available on the MML Investors Services CRIA platform. Fee-based financial planning, investment consulting and seminar marketing services may also be offered through CRIA by eligible MML Investors Services IA-Reps.

MMLIS Wealth Management Services (WMS) is an asset management platform that utilizes Envestnet's technology and program capabilities with trade execution and custodial services provided by National Financial Services (NFS) or directly with the program sponsor. The WMS Program has a breadth of investment programs that offer a wide range of investment products and solutions. These programs include the Advisor as Portfolio Manager (APM) Fund Strategist Providers (FSP), Separately Managed Accounts (SMA), Unified Managed Account (UMA) programs, and the WMS Advisory Annuities program.

Donor-advised funds are administered through a public charity that pools contributions with other donors' contributions, invests them according to the donors' investment selection, and makes grants to charitable organizations based upon the recommendations of donors.
